It’s been two years since this, and there is still no native Plex Media Player app on Linux:
Why don’t you guys give a damn about Linux users?

Us Windows users feel similarly… The current state of the Plex client on Windows is a joke. The Xbox One app hasn’t been updated in ages. Maybe after they re-staff the Windows development team, they’ll get to staffing a dev team for a Linux client. In the meantime, you can use the web client like many of us Windows users are having to resort to.

The Windows client actually works well for me. It’s a bit crummy from a UI perspective, but the actual stability and playback never seem to cause me any issues. What are the typical problems Windows users face?
Use OpenPHT. Works nicely and looks good (I prefer Plex black edition skin)
For example, there are numerous problems with music/audio playback on Windows 10 Mobile.
I try to use Plex to listen to AudioBooks (in mp3 format). For long files (e.g. 30 minutes), your position in the file is not recorded i.e. if you play 15 mins of the track, close down Plex, then return the next day, the track will start again from the beginning. This is despite the “Store Track Progress” option being ticked for the library.
If I sync an AudioBook to my Windows 10 Mobile device and play a 30-minute long track, the player will often stall at around 27 to 28 minutes in, and stop playing.
For music tracks, if you play a track, and then pause/stop it and go to a different album track and press play, Plex will often resume playing the original track.
The Plex application will randomly exit, leaving the audio playing.
Syncing content is quite unstable.
These are problems I see every day, and over the months (years?) all have been reported to Plex via the forums.
Unfortunately, it has become a waste of time to even ask questions on the Windows forum, because it appears no-one is home (except for the customers).
I should say, I also use Plex on Amazon Fire TV, and have no problems on that platform.

While you say this problem is on Windows Phone, these problems exist on Wibdows proper as well.
Also, Plex crashes constantly. It will only run with any stability when it is in the foreground. The touch aspect of the UI is totally broken and hard to use.
The Xbox app is ancient.
Yeah, it’s the UWP app, so it’s on mobile, tablets, desktop… Not sure what the problem is, when other audio apps (such as the plethora of podcast apps) work just fine on the platform.
As a software developer, I know it’s a lot more fun to work on something new, rather than fix bugs. It would be nice to get an official response from Plex - questions on twitter about the Windows platform are ignored, just as they are ignored here.
