As the title says.
I have a rig with a WD Pro PR4100 NAS which runs the Plex server, a XBox One X client and a Marantz SR7011 AVR.
This rig handles any sound format I can throw at it BUT Plex insists on transcoding my TrueHD (and pretty much any other format for that matter) to AAC. This frustrates me to no end.
There is no reason for it! It direct streams the video but not the audio. I’ve tried every setting I could think of. I am not sure if it is a client or server issue but I also tried with a PS4 client in the same setup and it is doing the same thing.
I would really like something like a “expert” setting telling the server/client to direct stream dammit and not try and be clever about it.
