Today (Sept 22nd) I opened Plex on my iPhone and went to view scheduled recordings. I noticed a red exclamation point next to a recording so I tapped on it. To my amazement Plex is telling me a future recording has a recording error! Any idea what this error is? I have a total of 6 turners and I see 5 other recordings scheduled durning this recordings time so all turners will be in use.
Most likely some sort of conflict. Are you sure there are only 5 other recordings not 6?
Seeing that the recording is for channel 756, I assume you are using a tuner with a cable card, correct? Is it possible that channel is encrypted? I’m not sure if you can check on the iPhone, but if you look in your recording schedule on Plex Web, there should be a more descriptive error.
According to the schedule the time frame that recording was set for including the padding before and after had 5 other recordings set so this recording should have been the 6th one.
Yes, it is a cable card tuner and I have recorded off of the channel with Plex before as well as tuned it in using a different app that also does not support encryption. All of the channels I have adding for Plex DVR are non-encrypted channels.
I don’t remember if I looked on Plex Web so I can’t say if it had a better description of the error. However Plex was able to record it as I see it in the past schedule with no errors.

Is it possible someone was watching a Live TV stream at the time you were checking? That will take up 1 tuner, so at the time, it would appear only 5 are available. But when it was actually time to record, that viewing was done and made the tuner available again.
