Plex libraries default structure / sort

Hello,

I am asking if possible to have a default “sorting” for libraries, indeed when a user first connect with plex client or when reset customization is triggered, the sort order of the libraries is aligned with the creation order of libraries. Is there a way to sort the libraries and for any reset customization for instance, we can keep predefined sort / structure of libraries ?

Thank you and best regards

No, it actually isn’t.

First, you see all “Movie”-type libraries, then all “TV Show”-type of libraries.
Then come “Music” Libraries, followed by “Photos”.
Last are “Other Videos” and special things like Playlists, Live TV and online media sources.
The sorting amongst libraries of the same type is alphabetically sorting the library names.

You can manipulate this a tiny bit by prepending the library names with space characters of those libraries which shall appear first.
But this can’t override the primary library “type” sorting.

Thank you!

I don’t really agree with you, when reseting the customization, libraries are sorted by creation date, libraries created first are in the top of the list, not even sorted alphabetically!..

I tried to use some prefix such as 1. 2. 3. But it is not working…

Is there a way to force sorting by modifying internal files at server level for instance ?

Thank you!

There is not, unfortunately.
