Plex Live TV Wont Start if Audio Codec profile is HE-AAC

Basically just the title.

If the audio codec profile for a source stream is HE-AAC, Plex will fail to start the live TV session.

If I convert the profile to LC Plex will play the channel just fine.

The same Channel works on VLC and Emby without any changes for reference.

As I understand it’s an issue with the windows app as you would probably be fine opening the same stream in other plex apps or even the web, as long as you enable the “Use alternate streaming protocol for video playback” under debug in the settings.

Check here for earlier details on this: This live TV session has ended

@sa2000 do you know if there are any updates on this?

Noted. Thank you! I did get this resolved by adding some trans-coding with FFMPEG I just think it’s silly that it’s needed.

Completely agree, I would rather not spend plex server resources on something as trivial as that.
