Why dose my plex lose half the database at least once a week, its never the same library’s nothing at all has changed over then server versions, yet at least once a week plex will lose say A-G of TV shows and then the next time it will be A-M of Films etc its always random.
All the files are there but plex just seems to lose them and has to “Re-add” the lot its starting to get very frustrating. Plex Media Server Logs_2021-01-27_18-46-34.zip (6.5 MB) heres my logs
How is your media storage connected to your server?
My immediate guess -
You have Empty trash automatically after every scan enabled. That’s the default.
Your media storage is temporarily unreachable by Plex. Perhaps it’s on a NAS and there is a network issue, perhaps it’s unreliable USB, or perhaps a hard drive is going to sleep.
Plex tries not to remove media when an entire volume is unreachable, but it isn’t omniscient.
My assumption is that for some reason Plex can’t access your media, so it removes the unreachable items from your Library.
When it can access the files again, it adds them back.
Sorry I should have included this.
Plex is on Windows 10 Machine
Media is Split between NAS and the Windows 10 Machine.
Auto empty is turned off.
Periodic scan is off (there so much it takes about 6 hours for a full scan, think this is a NAS read issue)
