In the last couple of updates, the Plex app for Mac is not opening properly. I have the applications folder on my dock for easy access, clicking on the applications folder in the dock and then clicking on Plex shows the Package Contents instead of launching the Plex app. Launching from finder works fine.
This is a change in behaviour, introduced a couple of updates back. It used to launch the app clicking through in this manner.
I’ve seen this behavior as well. What’s corrected it for me in the past is deleting the existing copy of the application from /Applications and replacing it with a fresh download (this causes macOS to see it as a new application). On first run, right-click on the app in Finder and select Open.
Thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded it again just now, first run went fine, then the updater kicked in. After the update it reverted to the “Open Package” behaviour.
