Plex Media Player: Implement Option to hide Photos section on home screen

PMP 2.5: how can I hide the photos section? I am not using it and have no interest in using it. It is an item I have to navigate through whenever navigating to a section that is to the right of the photos icon. Checked settings but was unable to find any option to hide the photos section

you cannot hide the section itself at this stage.
right now all you could do is hiding individual libraries, but not categories (by clicking the “…” at the very far right o the libraries list per section which activates the “sort libraries” dialog; all items below the “bar” will be hidden). – which is not what you’re looking for.

I’m stuck in the same boat with an “empty” photos section that just stands there waiting not to be used :S

Can someone from Plex dev team link a ticket for this feature request to stay up to date when this is implemented.

Needed here too, as I only use plex for films and TV shows.

Hope this will get implemented sooner rather than later. It’s very “annoying” to have menu-items that I don’t use.

I have the same issue, no interest in music of photos but now I am forced to scroll through them. It’s not hard to add an option to hide those buttons so it would be great if that could be added.

Or maybe don’t automatically create libraries for content people don’t have? Same as we have to create our own movie and tv libraries before those show up. Maybe music and photos should be treated in consistent manner with the other sections.

Hi folks, adding user configuration to the main navigation bar is high priority on our upcoming projects and we’ll get it out to you as soon as it’s ready.

@paulboy99 I noticed Plex 5.2 on iOS has More > Edit and then On / Off Switch for each category. That is awesome. So this is solved for iOS. But I was unable to find such settings for Plex Media Player on macOS. What’s the status here? Is this still on the Todo?

Hi there! We are working on that feature for Plex Media Player at this very moment and it will be in an upcoming release.

This has been implemented a while ago and Plex Media Player 2.20 has the feature in Settings > home Screen Media Types.
