Plex Media Scanner (Windows) suddenly using 80 percent of CPU--why?

Suddenly the Plex Medial Scanner (especially at night) is eating up most of my CPU cycles and making my Windows 10 Pro desktop sound like a vacuum cleaner. What gives? It wasn’t doing this before the most recent Plex Media Server upgrade (a few days ago at most). I haven’t even acquired new files since that time. It makes my PC so loud in my room that I have to actually turn it off vs. letting it sleep if I want to get some sleep.

n/m, it’s due to the new, not-so-helpfully on by default “Generate intro/credits video markers” feature detailed in another thread.

Server Version#: 1.31.0.6654
Player Version#: ?? Where to find this?
