Plex Media Scanner won't update music analysis (loudness)

Hiya,

I recently moved my plex media server to a different machine, migrating the configs across to keep play history/ratings/etc. This has gone fairly well, but a side-effect is all Music Analysis (loudless, gain, etc.) data is now missing.

I assumed that the butler would come around and re-analyse everything as a scheduled task, but even after a few days it seems this metadata (loudness etc.) is stuck in limbo in the database and is inhibiting replacement.

I’ve tried the usual ‘Refresh All Metadata,’ ‘Clean Bundles,’ ‘Empty Trash,’ but the database is seemingly being quite stubborn. I’d rather not re-create the library and lose play history.

Is there a way to force overwriting analysis, or a way to delete the analysis that’s stuck there?

Having a look through the [verbose] logs, I get spammed with this for every track:

Jan 23, 2021 14:38:22.890 [0x63a816201640] VERBOSE - Skipping expensive tags write for 'Redbone' (type: 9) since nothing changed.

Thanks,
o

Server Version#: 1.21.2.3918

To those that stumble across this in the future with a similar problem, mine appears to have resolved itself in the last couple of days.

Whilst it is not possible to force a proper refresh, the long-term scheduled background tasks seem to have finally fixed the loudness metadata in the last couple of days. To those that run into this issue after migrating: try waiting 2 weeks. :frowning:
