Plex Media Server crashed and coredumped on Synology DS920+

While adding new audio files and updateing meta data on a Plex Windows client interface, the server suddenly crashed, leaving the database corrupted. There is a zipped core dump ready on /volume1 on the NAS. By restoring backup db files, doing an integrity check and a db repair, including a lot of manual corrections, I could mostly fix the issue, but there remain some bad feelings …
