Plex media server doesn't recognize valid IPv6 address ranges for non-auth required addresses

When I add a properly formatted IPv6 address range in the “List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth” field, Plex does not recognize the address as a valid address.

My current entry looks similar to this:

192.168.1.0/24,2600:abcd:1234:5678::/64

I find in my Plex Media Server.log file the following errors:

Dec 25, 2017 18:28:34.725 [0x7f712e7ff700] ERROR - Error parsing allowedNetworks ‘2600:abcd:1234:5678::’: Invalid argument

Using the format 2600:abcd:1234:5678::/64 is the proper method for specify an IPv6 address range and should be supported by any application that conforms to IPv6 standards.

Please address.

That field does not support IPv6 values.

IPv4 only.

I think that’s the point the OP is making; it’s utterly ridiculous to have partial IPv6 support.

Same issue here. When will IPv6 be supported for allowedNetworks?

I do not have a date yet.
There is recent work to finalize support now that IPv6 is becoming more widespread.
I will ask for more information at the next staff meeting.

Hoping for some progress on this. 7 months has elapsed, I had hoped this would have been supported by now.

No update at this time.

When ready, it will be stated in the release notes.

Hi there, this issue seems to be open since 2017 - so it getting two years old. IPv6 is a requirement that isn’t new, and partial support is an interesting but useless concept.

So it (playing Compuserve and coming up with “its done when its done”) isn’t helpful. Is there a reliable date in the roadmap? Is a fix to this problem (and IPv6 full support) even on the roadmap?
