************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Is it possible that you have both the 32 bit and the 64 bit version of the server installed?

I think it is time to go for the “nuclear option”: https://support.plex.tv/articles/201941078-uninstall-plex-media-server/

I don’t have both installed, so here goes nuclear

ok, have cleaned everything. should I go 64 or 32?

Shouldn’t make much difference. It be very long before the 64 bit is available officially.

ok, thanks. here goes LOL

it worked. libraries are set up. yay. THANK YOU!!!

Is there a defined timeline ?

Very long

does not sound hopeful at all but will assume you left out the word won’t so the comment becomes

won’t be very long

:slight_smile:

I’ll happily stick with the 64 bit version, even if alpha/beta.

I assumed that and went with 64 to utilize my processor. thanks to everyone for all your help!!

Was that a typo? Or are you saying it will take a very long time for it to be released as stable?

It was a typo. (st*pid touch screens!)

Just a little heads up. PMS 64-bit for Windows will be official very soon. It will come with a few nice surprises too.

Full support for AMD GPU transcoding :smiley:

What do you mean by “full support”?

Off topic

As another example, I get far better performance transcoding (number of streams and quality of steams) using my 2700x and software transcoding than the RX580X and HW transcoding. Even a single stream from the RX580X ends up in blocking and stuttering when transcoded usign HW and the AMD GPU.

Interested to know more about these nice surprises however, in the 64 bit thread :slight_smile:

64-bit Windows is now officially in beta. Plex Media Server - #531 by Ridley

  • (Windows) Support zero-copy hardware transcoding with Nvidia GPUs on 64-bit Windows
  • (Scanner) Improve scanner performance (#13804)

These are the surprises I was referring to.

Edit - And the Downloads page now has the 64-bit version available.
