Plex Media Server hogging all of the NAS RAM

Server Version#:1.32.8.7639
Player Version#:Nvidia Shiel
Hi,
I seem to find that Plex media server is using up upto 80 percent of the available RAM in my Synology DS218+ NAS. If I restart Plex on the nas the ram is freed up but a day later it is hogging the RAM again.

attaching some screenshots and also the log file (I had to take Log4 file out and upload separately due to file size restrictions). Will be verygrateful for any feedback and help.

Thanks!

Did you enable the DLNA server ?

It has a known memory leak which hasn’t been solved (can’t find it).
It will consume memory in about a day.

Also, Synology NAS systems with 2 GB run high on memory usage.
It’s better to run with 4 or 8GB (the max).

This is mine, completely idle, for days.

Yes the DLNA server is enabled. Is it not required for playback? I can turn it off and report back.
my NAS already has 4GB ram, I installed a 2GB chip to increase RAM size last year.

The DLNA server is only used if you need it for DLNA-only devices.

All Plex clients use their own protocol.

You can safely turn DLNA off

Thanks so much it seems to have solved the problem. so far so good!
