Server Version#: Latest
Hello,
I set up the Linux version of Plex Media Server on my Linux Mint PC and everything seemed to be working great. All my media was on a NAS on the same network as the PC and Plex was streaming videos from the NAS to the Plex app on my iPad. Then, it suddenly stopped working and told me there was no more room. I check my PC and sure enough, the hard drive was full.
So, I disconnected the NAS drive’s Ethernet cable and restarted my PC (the one running Linux Mint), which miraculously freed up 8GB space.
At that point I was able to launch both Chrome and Firefox again.
Then, after leaving the PC running for about a half hour with the NAS drive disconnected from the network, my hard drive space increased to over 11GB.
I then performed the steps described in this Plex forum thread:
https://support.plex.tv/articles/202529153-why-is-my-plex-media-server-directory-so-large/
(NOTE: I don’t have Plex Pass on the Plex account I used on this PC, so I never performed the Sync-related steps.)
So, I plugged the NAS drive back into the Network and restarted my PC again. As soon as I logged in my hard drive started filling up again.
I had to disconnect the NAS drive again when the PC hard drive only had 4GB of space left.
I then left the PC running for a couple of days and just recently checked it. There’s over 132GB of free space now, which sounds about right for what’s on that PC.
So, can someone give me a hand with this? I need to have this all working properly by afternoon on Saturday (PST).
Thanks in advance.
