Artist tag doesn’t seem to be used as expected in the Music Library.
For example, if I want to create a smart playlist with multiple artists, Plex won’t find tracks under compilations.
Here, I want to create a playlist with “Culture beat”. I’m using Artist Title tag:
Plex finds nothing
If I use the “Track title” tag, all of the tracks are find
Tracks are correctly tagged
Plexamp Mix Builder
And the issue impacts “Mix builder” in Plexamp because it can’t find Artists who are in compilations…
It seems Plex use “AlbumArtist” tag and no the “Artist” tag to classify but in this way we can’t use all of our library.
In the same way, in the Artist view, we don’t see tracks from compilations only from “official” albums and it hides a large part of the library.
For example with Rihanna:
In her Artist view we can play 5 albums
But, I have other tracks in Compilations, for example:
I hope for an update to handle correctly Artist tags. It could be a huge improvement to manipulate all the library!
