Your logs are showing me it’s not crashing .

This is a commanded “shutdown”.

If this isn’t what’s happening, the next time it does crash, please immediately download the logs and attach the ZIP file.

(PMS only keeps logs for about 20 minutes on an active system before they are lost)

Hy, Thank you.
Oh I did not know that. This isn’t so easy because you only notice it when you want to retrieve something from Plex, then the interface appears, but you don’t have access to the media. After restarting the Plex media server it works again.

I’ll watch it and try to read the logs at the right moment.

Can I then view the logs directly from the folder:
/PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server/Logs
or only download it via the dashboard after restarting?

Thank you very much, kind regards Béla

Hello, now i get a logfile. i hope you know whats going on on my system and can help me. Thank you!!!

And this is the full protocoll.

Thank you for the logs.

I can see the crash.

I also see you’re using a 2+ year old version of PMS. A lot of those crashing bugs have been fixed since then.

The biggest problem is PMS is scanning your #snapshot folder. This has been fixed.

We found a hash match for [/volume1/Fotos/#snapshot/GMT+02-2024.07.14-04.00.01/1975-2015

May I recommend you try this and see how much it improves the situation for you?

This is the best version before the database was changed.

I also see you have a busy database in your logs a lot.
It might be time to perform a better Optimize DB than PMS can.

Hello, thank you very much for your time!

I always do updates via the package center on the Synology NAS, but updates are very rarely available there. I once did an update via the PMS, but it destroyed the PMS and I had to reinstall it.

I’ll try your version, thank you!

What do you mean by best version before the database change?

What do you mean by "better database optimization than PMS can do? Should I switch to a different system?

Thank you very much.

PMS 1.40.0 introduced a new structure to the database.
Once upgraded to 1.40.0, there is no means to downgrade as with all previous versions.

Better optimization than PMS – I have written a tool which operates on the database with PMS stopped. When it’s stopped, you can do things (cleanup) which PMS can’t while operating.

Please give this a read. You’ll find the basic optimization as well as a couple extra options for general server maintenance which improve performance.

The README.md contains the info as well as examples of how to use it

Thank you very much! I will try it. Regards Béla
