Hello, i have since a few Month the Problem that thePlex-Mediaserver is crashing daily and Stops Plex. i havee to stop and restart Plex manualy.
Is here someone who can help be to find the issue?
Hy, Thank you.
Oh I did not know that. This isn’t so easy because you only notice it when you want to retrieve something from Plex, then the interface appears, but you don’t have access to the media. After restarting the Plex media server it works again.
I’ll watch it and try to read the logs at the right moment.
Can I then view the logs directly from the folder:
/PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server/Logs
or only download it via the dashboard after restarting?
I always do updates via the package center on the Synology NAS, but updates are very rarely available there. I once did an update via the PMS, but it destroyed the PMS and I had to reinstall it.
I’ll try your version, thank you!
What do you mean by best version before the database change?
What do you mean by "better database optimization than PMS can do? Should I switch to a different system?
PMS 1.40.0 introduced a new structure to the database.
Once upgraded to 1.40.0, there is no means to downgrade as with all previous versions.
Better optimization than PMS – I have written a tool which operates on the database with PMS stopped. When it’s stopped, you can do things (cleanup) which PMS can’t while operating.
Please give this a read. You’ll find the basic optimization as well as a couple extra options for general server maintenance which improve performance.
The README.md contains the info as well as examples of how to use it
