Plex Media Server Won't Start After Reboot

Server Version#: 1.18.3.2129

I rebooted a FreeNAS custom FreeBSD 11.3 jail last night and since then, the PMS won’t start.

I’ve checked Logs/Plex Media Server.log, /var/log/messages, tried turning on RC debug and everything points towards it should run but it doesn’t.

Executing the binary /usr/local/share/plexmediaserver-plexpass/Plex_Media_Server just hangs with nothing becoming available via the web interface.

I’ve also reinstalled the pkg from the pkg source and also updated to the newest .tar.bz2.

I can’t find any other sensible source of logging as to what might be causing this.

Any suggestions/help please? I do have verbose and debugging logging turned on prior to the failure, so happy to provide what I can.

Thanks in advance.

Can you try sockstat -l46 (on the jail) and check if anything is listening!? If not it definitely didn’t start or stopped after.

Btw since its a custom jail, how did you install pkg? Or ports!?

Hi Mike_CT and others who might be lurking,

I installed via pkg. It turned out that I had some corrupt data somewhere in my previous install. I never worked out where it was, but it definitely wasn’t in:

I know Plug-ins and Plug-in Support had issues but in the end I just gave up and rebuilt my library from scratch.

Thanks for the support thought! I appreciate you getting back to me.
