PLEX... metadata and scanning issues (Please read and judge softly - I mean NO disrespect!)

Well…

It happened again :slightly_frowning_face:. A good chunk of posters are completely blank (I’d say over 80%). When I go into edit, there’s a few where there’s no posters available at all.

Thoughts??

Don’t know if this helps (or is related), but I tried watching a movie anyway to test it, and it played, until I tried to enable the srt file that I have with the movie (lots of my shows have srt files with them and they work fine) I got a 'trans code failed to start". ASA I disabled the srt (subs), movie plays.

Also, I can’t search for subs. Comes up ‘can’t find subs’.

…and now the 3rd issue has come up where Plex doesn’t ‘see’ my server.

It’s like this one issue cascades down and just kills it.

Just FYI - 2 ppl are currently watching shows, so I didn’t want to restart the service and kick them off, but I don’t think I have a choice :anguished:

**Update Edit note: I didn’t have to kick anyone off. Both of them just texted me and said their shows died on them. I restarted the service (via the ‘PmsService’) and everything’s back to normal now.

I woke up today to a text from my niece that my Plex was down. I logged into my server and ALL services were up and running, but I could not connect to Plex. Not by browser or by any of my other apps (I have a Google Chromecast w Google TV, a Samsung TV, and an LG TV, all with their own apps).

Hopefully this is something that can be diagnosed/fixed.

I’m 100% sure you guys are looking into this (I know you’re just a bunch of nerds like me :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: :grin: :upside_down_face:), so for now…

I’ve just set up a daily Task to restart the Plex Service, so will see if that at least curbs the current rate with blank posters and full crashes every 1-4 days.

Just checking if there’s any updates to the missing/blanking posters issue.

I’m still experiencing it, so my daily task to restart services is helping for now, but hoping there’s a fix soon (or a change to my setup that you feel I should make.
