I recently got Plex Pass and wanted to try out the multi user feature (multiple users on one account). After creating another user I found that they shared the same on deck and watched lists. Do I have to activate something so each user gets there own personalised experience or is something wrong?
TIA
Do you mean using the Plex Home Feature and Managed Users? You need to make an account for them in the Web App (the manager tool) then log into the device they are going to use as the admin. Then, and only if the device supports User Switching, switch to the managed account, on that device.
After you do this, they should have their own watched status, On Deck and keep track of their own series and movies. You can set permissions for the managed users, just like any regular users, for ratings levels, etc. So you can have one “Movies” library but keep the ids watching “G” and “PG” movies by limiting their ratings in the user settings for each managed user.
There is one problem with Managed Users that you might not be aware of. Your protection from this user from acce3ssing the admin functions of the Web App are only protected by the 4 digit pin you set up. That means kids can (and do) guess what the pin is so they can sometimes change their own settings. Be aware of it, so you can check in on it from time to time.
I have myself and my girlfriend as users on my account, and every time she watches a girl show it comes up on my user saying continue watching. Its like we are on the same account.
