Multiple Users Tracking their own shows (Same TV Folders shared with everyone)

I have a TV Show folder with sub-folders of multiple TV shows. If I create a Playlist or Collections for each family member, the “watched/Unwatched” for one users carries over to all users. Is there a way each user to keep track of their own shows watched without affecting shows watched for other family members?

Either you create separate plex.tv accounts for each family member and share your server with them
or
you get a Plex Pass and make use of managed users and the ‘fast user switching’ it allows (on commonly used plex client devices)

wouldn’t it be great if multiple users could just see where each other are if they are under the same master account?

i.e.
Myself and the GF have a user account
we are both watching X-files on random days
it would be great if I can see what show she is currently on so I can “catch up” or “slow down” depending on what is needed
