need to make a back up and restore metadata button so the metadata have edited on your device and make it a button or buttons that you can download at any time for back up the way you have to do it now ( is ridiculous) and there should be an easy way to do it and not have to spend days looking on how to do it. I love plex all i wont is love back for the time we invest in it THEY COULD bundle it with the lifetime pass. make it available on all platforms
The metadata is saved in the Plex database. We already offer an option to automatically schedule backups of this database. We don’t have a way to restore it automatically, but restoring is nothing more than shutting down PMS and replacing the current database with the backup.
Look under Settings \ Server \ Schedule Tasks \ Backup database every three days. This enabled the backup. Backup directory, this is where the backups are saved.

You’re not understanding me it should be as easy as a button I shouldn’t have to go to that file because my mom and dad don’t have good internet so I bring them some of my movies if it was a copy that everything’s the same I could just drag my file copy loaded up and then it would all reorganize the same as it is on mine and if my Plex ever crashes or breaks down I can always just copy theirs and bring it over to mine is back
Because if I have media servers busted and I’m screwed
