I see the new beta is out with the NFO functionality included:
Plex Media Server 1.43.1.10540 is now available to Plex Pass users in the Beta update channel.
A new NFO metadata agent for Movie and TV Show libraries.
(Metadata) Add ratings support to NFO parser (PM-4848)
(Metadata) Support spanning episodes in NFO parser (PM-4842)
Installed it, seems to be working as well as the preview builds.

Also: am I correct in assuming that the issue of cast images not appearing in the ‘New Experience’ apps will have to be resolved first before the NFO capability makes it into even a beta version of the Plex Server?
