Plex No Longer Remembers Sort Order for Libraries?

It seems like this just started for me today, so it may have been an update. But I like to have my libraries in reverse date added order so I can see what’s been there the longest that I haven’t yet watched. However, when navigating away from a library and back, it now forces the sort order back to alphabetical by title. Did they add a setting for handling how libraries remember sort order in the most recent version?

PMS version: 1.22.3.4392
Plex Web version: 4.56.3

I am not on this version yet, but you can change the date-added order by reselecting it. Note the direction of the yellow arrow:

Sorting: oldest first

Sorting: newest first:

Sorry, that’s not what my question is, but I appreciate your response.

Basically, I used to be able to navigate away from a library then back, and it would be sorted the same way I left it before (reverse date added order). Now, that no longer happens. It is always alphabetical by title when I navigate to a library no matter what.

agh.

I am own the version prior to yours and can confirm that it works the way you describe it should.

I guess it got broken in the update. To be sure though, try restarting the server.

here is the same. this only came with the new update

Same problem here. It’s pretty annoying

In another thread, Plex DaveBin said this is a known regression and will be fixed in the next release.

Thanks for the answer - same problem will wait for next update

that’s good news

wish they would give this bug a high priority, as it really is quite annoying…

at least (for now) if you use the local web app it still works.

(I do wonder how these things are not picked up in testing.)

good news …something little like this bug…could be… so so so annoying…,

and thankfully it now appears to have been fixed. thanks

Which version are you seeing it fixed on? I upgraded to plexmediaserver-1.22.3.4392-d7c624def.x86_64 (linux) yesterday and this incredibly annoying behavior persists. :frowning:

Fixed here in Plex Web 4.56.4: Plex Web - #353 by chrishoage

Ah, ok… Reloaded my Plex webpage and now I’m seeing it fixed. Thanks!
