Plex not transcoding DTS-HD MA audio

Recently picked up a Samsung M7 32" monitor for my home office - this is basically a TV but running Tizen and designed as a monitor with a few extra features.

I have some 4K movies with DTS-HD MA audio tracks and whatever I try to do to play them results in an error “An unexpected playback problem occurred”. I know that Samsung no longer supports DTS but shouldn’t Plex detect that and at least transcode the audio?

Have tried every setting I know of without any luck.

dts & TrueHD should transcode to supported formats.

What happens with other audio/video combinations?

  • 1080p with dts/dts-HD
  • 4K with TrueHD or Dolby Digital

Test with subtitles disabled, to avoid inadvertent video transcodes.
