So when it tells me if I want to create a new server I do?
Screenshot please?
EDIT:
Plex.tv sees your server again attached to your account:
CREATED ALMOST 2 YEARS AGO
LAST SEEN 1 MINUTE AGO
Didnât ask actually, it shows this (my actual libraries):

Youâre still in the incogito window? If yes, it will do this.
This is the Plex/web browser setting itself up.
Nothing will be remembered â âFINISHâ i
You can now close the window and reopen the browser normally.
Oh my god, itâs fixed! I canât thank you enough, you have no idea how grateful I am!
Check all your settings â be 100% certain ![]()
So it seems to be transcoding when using the web player, which is kind of strangeâŠ
It depends on the media.
Browsers usually only accept AAC audio.
Some browsers allow HEVC but others do not.
Settings - Server - Transcoder - Show Advanced
This will let you confirm what should be.
Iâll try on my TV, give me a sec
Yes! Everything is working properly then! I do have one last question if you would be so kind: Iâm having trouble updating the server version, because everytime I download it, it tells me that the same package is available through the Ubuntu software store, but I canât upload it from there eitherâŠ
Because youâre using the one from plex.tv/downloads â IGNORE the ubuntu store.
What we did here (remove the ubuntu store package) should quiet that update notification.
PMS telling you there is an update available â That happens almost constantly.
The version youâre on is VERY stable. For now, I recommend staying with it.
Settings - Server - General
Make certain youâre set to Public.
When you do decide to update
- Download from plex.tv/downloads
- The file will end up in your
Downloadsdirectory - From the Terminal window:
cd Downloads
sudo dpkg -i plexmediaserver_X.XX.XX.XXXX-*.deb
Substitute the real version number for the âXâ above.
Youâll see the installer run
Thank you soooo much! Youâve been a lifesaver
Here is my test machine. Ignore the warning ![]()
