I was wondering if there was some way, or some plugin, that I can use to push a notification to all connected Plex devices notifying everybody on these devices that the server will be going down for maintenance.
Nope. There’s a popular feature request for this somewhere, if I remember correctly.
Since Plex is for sharing with your close friends and family, presumably you have other, better ways to communicate this to them. I don’t have a single Plex user on my server that I don’t also have on IM.
Well, I can message everybody, however… I’d like to put up a notification a few days before announcing that there will be an update, or any other necessary message.
