Plex Notify

Still no ETA for a fix of the ETA bug ?
(check my previous post in this thread == post #1491)

Best regards: dlanor

I have the fix but it wont be til the next patch, I'm too far in with EMail right now and the code is unstable to do a release. Thank you for the report though, it was detailed and I was able to pin point the problem quickly.

I looked into this, Looks like clients dont support external ones yet =( The only way to do it is parsing the log files and i am avoiding that. so when the functionality is added to plex, Plex notify is ready

Ok thanks!!  Keep up the great work too! Donation headed your way!

Right side, Keep stats window running in background, switch right below that.

Gotcha.

I will give that a try when I get home.

Might be worth wording that a bit better.

I assumed letting that run would keep notify running in a high CPU state due to it grabbing stats all the time.

Not really just leave it on any page but log of events or top charts when you close it and you should be fine.

Okay.

This is the other bug I have been running into

When this capture was taken, there is actually seven active streams, two paused. So the "Now Playing" is correct, however the "Most Concurrent Streams" is way off.

Good. There's no need to hurry with the ETA fix. That wasn't the reason for my 'nagging'.
I just wanted to be sure you had noticed my post, so you had all the info on the bug.

I have enabled this, and it PlexNotify is taking a solid 35% of CPU resources (on a Quad Core Xeon). Non stop.

Change the update interval. It's in the menu on the statistics menu. Change it to 300 or 600 (5 or 10 minutes)

I changed the interval to 600.

It runs my CPU non-stop still at 30%. If I watch the window, it just keeps refreshing over and over. I put some counters in place to watch the CPU, it ran between 30-35% for 3 hours on PlexNotify.

I think tonight, I am going to try uninstalling PleX notify, perform a new install of PN, then re-import the database. Maybe it is glitched.

It might be a bug I will look into it

Testing the IP / User connected from inside my lan, I'm getting the "user unknown" - is this normal for right now, even inside the LAN?

Similar issue - only one of 3 Rokus connected on same local network show IP address. It is always the Roku 3, the other two models never show IP.  However, the client page of the web app correctly has the IP info.

can you attach your log file. There may be a parsing issue somewhere when deserializing.

Hope this is the right file...

I dont see any clients in http://localhost:32400/clients

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Do I need to do any thing to turn it on?

Same problem here too..

Thnks you..

Web Server is not show me client information for ip-adress. Internal or External ip-adress...

Just an idea - sorry if it's been mentioned before. Since I, like many other server owners, rely heavily on getting all my server notifications via Mobile Notification services+mail to my desktop/laptop/tablet/phone, including bandwidth usage, hardware and temperature alerts, user activity etc etc and very rarely remote desktop to my servers - I was wondering if the following would be possible.. And I know I´m probably asking alot here :)

At the end of the day/week/month server owner would get either/both (optional)

Mobile notification with:

- Total video files watched

- Total users connected over the time period selected

- Most concurrent streams at any time during that time period

- Total connection errors logged if any

- Total files added

Email containing information about:

- Same stats as above, but presented with graphs (I know, I´m needy - But graphs are shiny!)

- Stats about platform usage, preferably presented with a Pie Chart

- Total new users, if any

- Total WAN IP's that connected to your server (Comes in handy if some users are getting careless with their accounts)

- List of new TV Shows (not every episode, just list what shows have been updated)

- List of new Movies

- Top 3-5 (?) active users

- Top 5 Movies

- Top 5 TV Shows

I know the email part is asking alot, but the mobile notification summary would be very, very handy. But, just an idea :)
