RSS Feed options.   So I have the RSS feed working now, however it doesn't add an entry for new items.   Is there anyway to get this support?   

Also it would be great to be able to have multiple RSS feeds.  One just for additions (What about deletions?  Anyway to get notified on that?)   And another for the watched info...

Not at the moment. The current feed is more of a proof of concept. The web part of plex notify will be expanded in the future.

Does the MSSQL db you use allow the use of SQL Management Studio?  I have tried putting in 127.0.0.1/PlexNotify but it won't allow me to connect.  It just says no server found..   I want to write a custom RSS feed from the DB for new show adds, but need to explore the DB structure first.

Yeah, all you have to do is create an empty database and point Plex notify at it. 

Your connection string should look something like this:

Server=127.0.0.1/PlexNotify;Database=PlexNotify;User Id=myUsername;Password=myPassword;

Hey JBurlison,

I'm having trouble getting the application to lauch. It installs fine but when I open the program shortcut from the desktop or start menu it comes up with a box saying "verifying application requirements" which goes away after a few seconds and nothing else happens. I've checked task manager & it's not running in the background.

I'm running Windows 8.1, Have .net 4.5 as it's installed with win 8.1 and PMS 0.9.9.12, 

Any suggestions?

Update: It's ok I got it working after repairing the windows store and re-installing .net 3.5. Thanks for all your hard work. It's exactly what I was looking for!

I use PlexNotify complement EvenGhost to manage Home automation scripts via notifications to Growl. 
 
Everything works fine except that I noticed a difference in syntax between the Growl notification sent, but I do not know how to explain. (is what it is linked to the user name or nickname that can be assigned) 
 
Exemple :
Main.GrowlForwarder.PlexNotify.Playing (u"On regarde Les Aventures de Tintin - S01, E01: Le Crabe aux Pinces d'Or (1941).", u"On is watching Les Aventures de Tintin - S01, E01: Le Crabe aux Pinces d'Or (1941) on server Local PMS.")

But suddenly scripts works half the time because I can not test it in a variable (a trick?) the " or '

Any chance of adding formatting options to the notifications? I'm looking for something like a single option to switch to 'HTPC style notifications' so I can get that 10ft interface. 

I cropped down the notifications so they just read:

{UserName} is watching

{Video}

{UserName} has stopped watching

{Video} ({Progress}% finished)

Between the two images (show poster and user image) I get all the info I really need, but then I'm left with a big box with some tiny text.

It's far from a high priority, but would be nice to have. In any case, thanks for the cool app.

Hi sorry for the late response. I havent been able to work on Plex notify for a couple weeks.

You can do this by putting (carriage return, new line) in for example:

{UserName} is watching {Video}

or

{UserName} has stopped watching {Video} ({Progress}% finished)

Thank you for all you are doing! I made a donation to the cause because I think this product deserves it.

I am awaiting the next release of features with such baited breath that it is almost shameful  :P

Sounds great; a centralised Plex Notify service with various clients connecting (a la PMS) makes a lot of sense. Paid mobile apps are a good way to help fund the project. Best of luck!

Yep same thing here.. Been away a couple of days and so only yesterday I ran the two latest PMS updates. The crashing seems to have started since I updated.

Well spotted.. I have been toggling trailers on and off.

A trailer plays and Plex Notify crashes... Disable trailers and Plex Notify stays running. Tried this several times with same results.
