I installed the Plex app on my PS4 a few days ago and had to pay for a Plex Pass for it to work (I sure don't mind paying for great services)!
My boys and I watched a few movies and all was well in the universe (at full 20mb quality with no buffering), last night I fired up Plex on my PS4 to watched another movie. At the end of the movie I backed out to the main menu and selected another movie to watch but it errored out and would not play. It buffers for a while then errors.
I accessed Plex from my iPhone, and iPad and both played the movie connected to the wifi. The movie also plays from my iMac which is used as my media server (all media on a NAS connected to my Airport Extreme). Roku works fine as well.
I just now tried to play the same movie remotely on my iPhone and it works just fine (4g as well as work wifi)...it also played from my work laptop via Firefox broswer.
I didn't change any settings...what the heck happened to my PS4?
Anything I can check that may have caused this? I tried again this morning after putting the PS4 to sleep, but the problem persisted.
PS Plex app is very early in life cycle, needs patched imo.
I've noticed the same thing on my PS3 in the bedroom. The content works fine on WiFi from my phone which is a few feet further than my PS3 from the access point. The PS4 in the living room doesn't get nearly as much Plex action, but haven't noticed anything on it yet.
The Plex app even hung up my PS3 twice and I have to hard restart it, repair the file system, yada yada. Hopefully they patch the PS Plex app soon.
Well I've since tested and realized it was just that particular movie I was trying to play. Funny thing is that this movie is Apple format just like all my others, but something in this one is not happy with the PS4. Something in the codec maybe.
I'm not complaining really because I've enjoyed Plex greatly ever since I've started using it.

Oh sure, I'm not complaining either. The ONLY reason I adopted Plex (and Plex pass from day 1) is the announcement of PS app. I love it! However, I recognize that it's in infant stages and will take time for more features to become available.
I've also noticed certain titles that refuse to load on either the PS3 (wireless) or PS4 (wired)... yet these same titles will load fine on Plex for web, Roku, Android, Kindle.

Sorry, I know this helps you make the app better and I always mean to do it, newborn at home makes it so that I'm always getting side tracked!
