Plex on Samsung DeX is broken for playback since android 12 this week

If not familiar with DeX, it’s the desktop like environment/launcher for samsung flagship phones and tablets.

With the brand new update of ONEUI4 (android 12) Plex will no longer play video when it’s opened in DeX (external monitor)

using Plex on the device, it works normally

using Plex on external monitor via screen mirroring, works just normally

using Plex via DeX, and media never plays. you can browse your collection just fine, select a show/movie but when you hit play, it just endlessly loads

the problem is likely something in android 12, but I suspect it’ll take plex devs to fix it, wuwu

it’s definitely an oddball one. it’s weird that it works on device just fine, but within DeX it’s completely broken

Just trying this with a new phone, seems it’s still not working.
