Plex Pass Premium Music Vevo

I’m relatively new to Plex (a few months) and I think it has great potential. Yesterday I attempted to test out the premium music feature. I walked through the setup process as described on this site.

All of the music was properly identified and put into albums. However, there weren’t any VEVO videos associated with any of the music. (I understand that there may be songs in my collection that don’t have videos.) I wanted to start with a small collection of about 50 songs so as not to bog down my server. All of the songs I added were located in one folder on my server.

When all songs in one folder didn’t produce any results, I copied over a folder containing an album produced in 2014 that I verified had VEVO videos by going to VEVO. Same results. Plex identified the album and songs correctly, but no videos.

So I did some more research in this forum and one user suggested that they changed the “Update Channel” on the server tab to Plex Pass instead of Public who thought that might have helped. Low and behold, I made the change and videos for the modern album showed videos. (Granted, I made additional changes that I cannot specifically recall - like probably clicking check for updates, signing in and out, rebooting, signing in with the Android app and Roku Plex Pass app, etc.)

I then copied over several other folders which contained artists and their albums. However, no videos showed. I forced a refresh, but no luck.

I tried deleting the library, emptying the trash, cleaning bundles, and then optimizing, then adding the full folder again (the previously successful match with videos and the newly added folders and the 50 singles). The result, no videos, even for the previously successful videos.

I’m running:
Web Version 2.4.9
Server Version 0.9.12.4 on a WHS 2011 os
Plex Preview Roku app 0.7.0

I’m curious if I’m missing something with the setup?

Did you try checking in the sever settings to ensure the Vevo Agent was turned on? To do this, login to the web interface, click on settings. Then click on sever in the top right hand corner. Then on left side click on Agents. check under Artist and Albums to ensure Vevo is checked under Premium Music.

Thank you for the response. I double checked both locations and it was already checked.

Is Local Media Assets supposed to be checked? I tried it both with and without, but didn’t seem to affect it any, so I left it off.

I have recently upgraded to Plex Pass, so far I have been unable to get music videos working, I have tried all of the above. Also I do not get the extra’s in Movies. I am signed in to Pass account both on server and client. Could it be a linking issue with my account?

I have the same issue as the OP, checked lots of albums, no music videos showing up. I also have checked to make sure vevo is checked in the agents settings

Believe it or not, I now have this working. As usual, it is impossible to determine what was the cause. Quite honestly, it could have simply been a reboot after creating the library. My server required a reboot after some Windows updates. After the reboot, I opened the web app and the album photos were changed and the associated videos now appear. I even dropped a few singles into the library, and those were found as well. Go figure.

I am having the exact same error! Unable to see VEVO in all of my devices… is there product support for the lifetime members?

Are the videos physically downloaded to your server, or are links to them hosted on Vivo provided?
I have a very large music collection and am worried that if Plex downloads videos automatically I’ll run out of disk space very quickly.
Ideally, if they are downloaded, can I choose to turn off/on by artist?

Vevo discontinued the service, so that is no longer a thing, unfortunately.
And the videos were just streamed.

And now we get a refund for loosing this amazing plex pass feature?
