What is the point of this trick … will they cancel this feature from Plex Pass in the near future ?
This versions fixes a lot of issues from 1.4.3 so they want to get it released as quick as possible to the masses. What is wrong with that?
You realize that just because it’s available to everyone that it doesn’t open all the features to everyone. Many features require a plex-pass membership.
Confirming Cayars statement,
1.4.4 fixed a number of issues caused directly by 1.4.3, as a rapid-turnaround release and is so labeled a Hotfix for this reason.
It could have sat in PlexPass only for a longer period while but did not warrant ‘bake in’ time. It is a surgically targeted release as so stated in the release notes.
The PlexPass download distinction will not be discontinued. Normal updates and new features will continue to be part of the PlexPass-first methodology. Only after it’s had time to settle (cool down / dry off / whatever words you wish to use) and prove itself solid, will it move to Public.
