Plex Playback Issues

Server Version#: 1.40.5.8921
Player Version#: Should be latest, how can I see this?

I am running a Plex Media server on a Windows 10 OS with an SSD disk and a HDD for storage. It’s an AMD Ryzen 7 2700x and I have trouble to play 4K videos etc… But I am able to play around 10 GB movies … I think the issues accurs when there is like 17 - 20 GB movies that I try to play …

I have a GTX 3060 inside that host but I don’t have plex premium so it’s all on the CPU. But why do I have this issue?

It’s either your CPU can’t keep up or your bandwidth is limited. There are ways to find out where you’re bottlenecked. I’m sure you can think of some already.

The CPU should be able to keep up and I have a 250/250  … But okay…

Is it better to buy plex pass and use the GPU instead?

Should and does are two different things. If you don’t know what’s going on with your system, then how are you supposed to know you’re applying the correct fix?

Okay, I changed and gave more CPU and it handled the 4K fine on my PC now, will try on my TV later. But the question is, should I buy a plex pass and use the GPU instead? Any benefits ?
