What you’re suggesting has already need addressed in existing feature suggestions. Please comment/vote in those to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes. Unless I’m missing some unique aspect of your suggestion I’ll close this thread as a duplicate.

There needs to be an easy way to change the speed on the fly. Three levels deep in the menu is impossible especially if you are having to do it every time you stop playback and then start again. It’s great that it carries through from episode to episode but the feature needs be able to play different speeds without having to go into a separate menu screen.
First, thanks for adding Playback Speed, it’s a great addition. However, it could use a minor GUI tweak to make it more usable.
It would be much more useful and accessible if the button to change speeds was located on the left next to Subtitles, Audio Track, and Quality when you first activate the initial overlay popup – ideally in the first click to the left from Play/Pause.
Currently, it’s buried under Playback Settings, and so it takes 21 clicks to change it from 1x to 2x and return to the…

I’m thrilled that Plex now supports playback speed control!
I noticed in the guidance page that changing the speed from “normal” resets when playback stops.
Could this be changed so the speed setting is remembered unless the app is restarted?
