When I try to launch the app the screen quickly flashes the ‘choose a user’ screen, but then goes blank with a whirlygig in the middle. Left it 5 minutes or so and nothing happened.
Tried running as Administrator - same thing. Uninstalled and re-installed latest version from website - same thing, although obviously no user screen as hasn’t logged int yet.
Server is running on a local Synology NAS and I updated passwords a few days ago as per recent security issue and I could connect from all local devices (Windows desktop app, tv, android, windows browser)
I did install 3 latest windows updates today, which I’m guessing might be the culprit?:
2025-09 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 24H2 for x64 (KB5064401)
2025-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5065426) (26100.6584)
2025-09 .NET 8.0.20 Update for x64 Client (KB5066233)
Server Version#:1.42.1.10060-720010060
Player Version#:v.1.110.0.351-4e48eb83
Edition Windows 11 Enterprise
Version 24H2
OS build 26100.6584
Having the same problem on MacOs using client: Plex-1.110.0.351-4e48eb83-universal and server: 1.42.2.10122 (docker on linux)
Tryed to completely remove Plex Desktop from my mac with Clean My Mac and reinstall, and the problem persist. Most strange thing is that last night on same setup, it was working without problem.
I can access from web browser on the same computer or from my phone with the plex app.
Here are the last logs from the desktop app since I uninstall it and reinstall.
I temporally fixed it by disabling the lan network on my Mac, then opening the Plex Desktop app (it loaded without problem), and then enabling the lan network. The app loads and I can reach my local server.
Then if I close Plex Desktop app and open it again while the lan network is still enabled, the desktop app fails to start and gets stuck on the Plex logo.
