Plex requires systemd now

I’ve been running Plex Media Server for several years on a
box running PCLinuxOS, which does not use systemd.
I’m currently on version 1.14.1. Today I tried to upgrade to
1.15.2, and I got this error:

Plex Media Server requires systemd. Please upgrade the Operating Systm (sic) version (Note: the message misspells System, that’s not my typo)

Is there a technical reason Plex is now requiring systemd?

PMS now requires systemd?

Server Version#: 1.14.1.5488 When I logged into my Plex Server this morning, I received the message that there was an update available. I downloaded the update file (plexmediaserver-1.15.1.791-8bec0f76c.x86_64.rpm) added it to my respository, opened Synaptic and attempted to perform the update. Received the message that systemd was required and the update was aborted. Is this the end of updates for non-systemd systems?
