Thanks for following up and trying the sample video I uploaded.
How long do I have to skip ahead or back?
I usually only have this issue skip the episode’s intro. But it also occurs if I press the skip ahead or skip back as little as 1-2x.
The video plays, there is a prompt to skip the intro (I think that’s what it’s called) and I press ‘select’ on the remote. The video resumes playing and the audio is playing immediately after the video resumes - there is no gap and the audio is out of sync.
Another poster said that if you wait the audio and video eventually sync so I tried it and that does seem to be the case – but it means there are ~5-10 seconds with the audio and video not matching at all (at least a couple seconds, not milliseconds).
It also happens if I miss something in the video and hit the skip-back button 2x and the audio is again out of sync. When that happens, I really need the audio to be in sync, so it’s faster to exit Plex (hit the Home Button on the remote) and then re-open Plex and resume from where it left off (this has worked 99% of the time).
Subtitles are not enabled
Quality is Original Direct Stream
Roku OS is 12, so I have the AAC workaround deactivated (I’ve also tested this issue with the setting enabled with no effect)
Roku is as follows:
TCL model: 43S517
Hardware ID: 7116X
Software Version: 12.0.0 - Build 4182-30
Plex Player - Current non-beta version
7.4.2.8452-886e3fbe7-Plex
I just you another message with another video with the issue along with a video of me recording the issue on my phone.
In addition, I opened a second video fast-forwarded and had the same audio sync issue - which I’m not surprised about because it happens with nearly every video.
Anyways I’m going to put the 2nd (3 in total) in the shared folder along with the recorded video showing how long it can take for the audio and video to be in sync again.
BigWheel, I’m dropping another series/episode as another example of when I skip forward in a video the audio is out of sync for several seconds.
There is also an accompanying video of the issue from my phone.
I can do this all day and night - this is not a one-off small little problem.
We have updated our Preview version. We are still having trouble reproducing this in-house. If anyone that can replicate this issue with ease, please test this version and let us know! thanks!
I just (re)installed the Plex Preview app on my Roku TV and tried to recreate the audio out-of-sync issue — and I couldn’t!
Every example I mentioned in this thread as well as the episodes I uploaded to the cloud for you to test now can skip into or FF / RW and keeps audio in-sync.
