After this most recent update, when I FF (Fast Forward) through any video, the audio is VERY out of sync when I resume playback.
This was true for the Preview as well and reported on it (I can no longer find that post) but it’s the same problem now that the beta has been pushed to the ‘regular’ branch.
My Original Post
Can you get the Roku logs after it happens. Does it matter what the codecs are on the video file being played at all?
This is happening to me too. I can replicate it pretty easily by fast forwarding. But then it seems even if I restart the tv show or even power down the tv (with Roku built in) it is still out of sync, even playing something else that is in sync and going back to the original show is still out of sync, I then rewind and fast forward and rewind a few times and it ends up back in sync.
Server 1.32.4…7164 on a Mac.
Client HiSense TV with Roku built in running 7.3.2.8429

I have some logs downloaded from my Roku player for when this issue is happening, and it’s still happeining only on some media. Is there anywhere I can upload them as I don’t want to post them on here.
Thanks
I’ll start creating and uploading logs too.
I’m primarily experiencing this with x265 encoded videos.
I don’t have any x265 media, to get it back in sync I have found the best way is to rewind a few mins, let it buffer, play (still out of sync), close the media and reopen it and it’s fine again.
Here is one of the file’s data from the logs

I close the app and reopen to correct the audio sync. Sometimes I can skip back a FEW times, and it might work. Skip again and it also might sync - but that’s a pain and isn’t foolproof.
Exciting Plex and reopening if the quickest wear for my to fix sync.

I’m happy to upload logs, but somewhere maybe more secure.
This is happening a lot now and it’s becoming very annoying

Is there somewhere secure I can upload the logs. It’s easy to recreate and I can upload server and Roku logs.
Here are the logs from immediately after using Intro Skip and having the audio terribly out of sync.
Roku Audio Sync after skip.txt (191.8 KB)
the show and episode where the problem occurred was, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds s02e03
Here is a second log that I downloaded after having the audio sync issue after skipping backwards a couple of times to rewatch something.
Superman & Lois s03e11
Roku Audio Sync after skip 2.txt (190.7 KB)
Would it help if I keep uploading logs from my Roku or are the two I already uploaded helpful enought to recify this bug?
I’m disappointed no one is looking into this issue. Roku has moved from really solid to pretty much unusable if you rewind / close and reopen / fast forward. It’s incredibly frustrating.

I’ve noticed that if it’s out of sync, if I let it play it eventually catches up and regains audio / video sync. My Roku is built into my Hisense tv - I wonder if the processor isn’t powerful enough to regain synchronicity straight away. Only a thought - I’ll keep monitoring.
No, I personally dont believe it’s tied to just one device. I have three Roku TV’s by three separate manufacturers, one Roku Ultra, two different models of the streaming sticks, one stream bar pro and this is a Plex for Roku app issue. No other streaming services have the issue of out of sync audio but the Plex App.

Is it possible to get a sample file we can reproduce this with.
I sent you a link to the sample file(s) as well as the original non-modified file as well.

Hey,
We are still looking into this but we were not able to reproduce with the sample files you sent me. When I FF there is a few seconds of no sound but once it starts it is in sync
Does it matter how far you FF? like if you hit it multiple times or hold it down for a bit? Were subtitles enabled? What model Roku do you have and it is connected via a receiver or directly to a TV? I was also assuming you have local quality set to Original and this is not transcoding.
