Plex server bug? Movies tab fills up with nonsense file names and trash can symbol

I am using Plex as a PVR to record TV shows from an HDHomerun device.

Some recordings i.e. repeat sporting events, certain documentary series will show up in both the TV Shows and Movies tab. Under the TV Shows tab the recording has the correct recording name. Under the Movies tab recordings will show up with nonsense names like “Season 2022”, often with unrelated thumbnail images.

If I watch and delete a recording under the TV Shows tab, it gets deleted. Under the Movies tab it still remains in the list with a garbage can icon in the middle. I have to manually delete each recording with the garbage can icon in the Movies tab to get rid of it. If I don’t my Movies tab fills up with garbage non-existing files. Example screen shots are attached below. BTW I am only watching channels in English broadcast in Canada, I don’t understand where the Kanji comes from or the file name “2021” when I recorded the Olympics opening ceremony last week.

This seems to be a bug. Is there a work around to fix the problem?

Ideally I want all recordings to appear only in the TV Shows tab similar to the TiVo. I don’t understand why some TV shows end up in Movies while others in TV Shows, and some in both.

What folder(s) do you have your movie and TV libraries pointed to? Do they overlap (does the movie library have access to the TV shows folder)? That’s generally what causes issues like these. Plex expects movie and TV content to be stored separately for the best results.
