I tried to add an Album Song to a newly created collection today. That made Plex Server put the added song to first playback position of the album. So now album playback order is messed. Is this a feature, a bug or am I doing something wrong?
Do you mean you were playing something and you chose “Add to Queue” - This should add the song to the queue after the currently playing one.
Or you chose “Add to playlist” and selected a previously created playlist. - This should add it to the end of the playlist.
Also a collection and a playlist are not the same thing so I may be misunderstanding.
I am also a bit confused.
You are first talking about playlists, then about collections (which is a different thing), and then albums.
If the source album randomly changes its track ordering, try to Refresh Metadata of this album.
Yes I was a bit unprecise there. It’s about collections, not playlists.
I am in the menu for an album, then mark for example track 3 and add it to a collection. That makes track 3 move up in the album order to first position. The same with playlists doesn’t alter the album order.
Only way to solve this is to update metadata it seems. After that the order is back to normal.
