Thank you for your input. My issue is not that scanning takes too long, but rather gets stuck completely unless I restart my computer.
I’d wager the underlying root cause is still the same. Try moving your data folder to C: for a while (assuming it is an SSD) and see how it performs.
My data is now back on C: SSD. Same issue
UPDATE: Just installed Jellyfin and media has been discovered practically instantly. Whatever the issue is, its definitely within Plex.
Did you start fresh on the SSD or move old databases around? Maybe it was corrupt.
Anyway, I’m can’t be much more of help on windows, I hate the whole platform with passion.
