Hi, I have a Synology 918+ with my bibliotheque, a Synology 718+ and two land internet conexions. Can I connect the 2 internet conexions to the LAN 1 of the two nas. And connect the two nas direct with the LAN 2, to use the 718+`like the plex server using the remote files in the 918+?. My first connexion is more saturated, and I think if that is posible, it will works very well with my family outside home. I tried to mount a folder from LAN2 to LAN2 but it doesn´t work.
I tried now using the lan 1 on booth nas in the same internet conexion (and no doing use of the LAN 2) but don´t work. It said connexion error, be sure remote server is avaiable at NFS … Seemed I have some problems
I think this should help you connect your 2 NAS…
Both DiskStations should be connected to your router, then you should be able to mount the shares from your 2nd NAS in the 1st one, allowing the Plex Media Server installed on the 1st NAS to access shares from both NAS:
