Plex Server randomly crashes

Server Version#: Version 1.43.1.10611-1e34174b1
Laptop: MacBook Pro 2016 - Intel Core i5 2,9Ghz - 8GB RAM - macOS Monterey 12.7.6

Hi Everyone!
My server keeps randomly crashing and I have no clue why. I have been monitoring CPU/RAM consumption during Plex usage and it doesn’t seem to be a resources problem..

Doesn’t seem to be a problem with the video resolution either, because sometimes I am streaming a 4K movie and it’s completely fine, and in 1080p on a TV Show crashes. I can’t figure out a pattern.

How can I troubleshoot what is happening? I tried to check the logs but they are just massive and even looking for errors doesn’t seem to appear anything critical..

Can someone help me or guide me on how to troubleshoot the problem?
I uploaded a crash dump that happened today.

Thank you!

Lets start with a copy of your server logs 5 minutes after restarting after a crash.

I was editing my post to add the crash dump file, the file is now on main post.

Thank you for the help!

When we ask for a copy of your server logs, we are asking for the entire zip file, not just a single log file.

Sorry, I thought it would help to only upload the crash dump created by Plex.. Here is the full folder downloaded from Plex Web App.

Doubt its related but I am not seeing plex pull a public IP:
Apr 20, 2026 20:46:26.808 [0x700001dd2000] DEBUG - MyPlex: Sending Server Info to myPlex (user=address@gmail.com, ip=, port=0)
I did remove your email address from this. Have you looked at media encoding? Does it happen on the same file every time?

No I didn’t notice the media encoding. It doesn’t happen always on the same file I think, but maybe multiple episodes of the same tvshow, but I am not sure. Although when it crashes, I just restart the server and continue on the same episode (without problems).

can you please elaborate on the IP part?

Normally the ip=, isnt blank. It normally has your WAN address such as ip=8.8.8.8, when its blank it means plex couldnt get your WAN IP.

But is that related to my problem? I use Plex in other computers, iPad and TV’s without any network issues (I only enabled Plex for my network, remote use is disabled)

Its not a direct relationship. I am not seeing any obvious root causes. However even with remote access disabled it should still normally show your WAN address. Since it was an anomaly I figured I say something.
