Hey,

So I’ve dug out my old RPi2B and installed Ubuntu Mate on it. I attempted to install a Plex Server downloading via the website with the Armv7 linux version and using the default package installer. It downloads fine and the package installer pops and I hit install bit then nothing. I had a look around to see if I could find how to do it via terminal but it all seemed specific to rasbian.

Also any better OS suggestions for Plex sever would be great, I want to be able to use it for Netflix also so something with a browser is needed.

Which Ubuntu Mate image did you install? They provide both armhf and arm64 versions. If you installed armhf use the ARMv7 PMS package; if you installed arm64 use the ARMv8 PMS package.

Either way, try installing from the command-line using:
sudo dpkg -i plexmediaserver-version.deb
