Plex server shows up as indirect

i can add that there’s no other problems with the network. Everything else is working as it should.

Plex is running on a stationary machine without Wifi so that’s not the case. The weird thing is that i haven’t changed anything except for wiping the c: drive and reinstalling windows .

I have another router but that’s just set up as a repeater and only for wifi si i would suppose that shouldn’t have and effect on the stationary.

It shouldn’t – if it is set up correctly, with disabled NAT, DHCP, and DNS resolver services.

What do you thing about removing all entries in the registry for plex and reinstalling/repairing plex again?

Might that help?

it has worked as a charm before so it should be set up just fine.

Do you mean the Windows registry?
Nothing. There is nothing in there which could explain the behaviour.

Disable power saving on the ethernet port.

Any 3rd party anti virus or firewall software in use?

a third party virus software but i tried turning that of already with no success…

Turned the power options of. Will se if that makes any difference.

tried turning the virus software of again and still the same problem. Your server is unreachable.

Instead of disabling the A/V, tell it to stay out of the Plex data folder.

I will try reinstalling an old version of plex later and see it that has any effect on this issue.

Is there any way to install it on a different location and point it to the libraries?

You can do that this way
Rolling back on Windows works as follows:

  1. note down your current Plex Server software version
  2. Stop Plex Server using its tray icon.
  3. uninstall Plex Server with the regular ‘Apps’ control panel of Windows. Do not use 3rd party ‘uninstaller’ software like Revo etc. Do not use Registry cleaners/optimizers.
  4. go to your Plex data folder.
There is a subfolder in there, named Updates which will contain previous versions of the installer .exe
  5. execute the installer for the previous software version
  6. reboot Windows (just a safety measure, it may work without rebooting as well)

There is, but there is really no need. You can safely downgrade to e.g. PMS 1.16 or 1.17 without any loss of data.
If you want to take extra caution, disable

  • Scan my library automatically
  • Scan my library periodically
  • Empty trash automatically after every scan

All under
Settings - Server - Library

Alright i will give it a shot later. Will write something how it did go when i’m done.

Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.
