So Plex will stream the file to the device. Need to make sure either the Chromecast settings have the audio formats enabled or the TV if the TV is doing the audio decoding.
Also check the video file and make sure it has those audio formats embedded.
When you play the file, check your server dashboard and see if what is being played. It should tell you the video and audio formats, and if the server is doing any transcoding to them.
Hi, thanks for the replay.
My Google Chromecast is connected to my Home Cinema Amplituner via HDMI. Not to the TV directly. Sound then is played from my audiosystem, not from TV. There is an info on Google Chromecast app Plex, that the file I need to play has the multichannel sound (for instance DTS 5.1), but when started, multichannel sound is not played, only stereo.
Please be informed, that at the same time each VOD played on the same Google Chromecast is fine in case of multichannel sound.
Google Chromecast is not able to decode multichannel sound I believe, so this decoding has to be done on the Plex server. I set all settings related to the multichannel sound and still nothing that happens.
Is it possible that this option needs Plex premium version?
