I have been having issues with deleting a file after watching it. It doesn’t matter what client; even using direct access with Windows or Mac systems to do a simple file delete.
If I close the instance of Plex server, and then re-launch it (without restarting the host server (Win10)), the file lock is released and the file can be deleted either from a PC/Mac or from any of the different clients. This error and this kludge fix are repeatable.
I finally caught an error message before it flashed by and it said that the file was still locked by the transcoder, but this is when only 1 person has access and the playback is finished. Waiting to see if it has released (up to 24 hours during my testing) doesn’t work.
This has been going on for at least the last 2 (maybe 3 updates). My brother experiences it too on his system.
