Plex Sever Program Reboot

I run a Headless Plex Server. Currently I remote VPN in to the server if I need to do restart Plex for what ever reason. The server itself is set to reboot weekly during off times but what about the times you just need to just just do a simple program restart without rebooting your whole server? It would be great to have an option in the Plex Dash or Web UI to be able to restart the program built into Plex. Seems like a basic admin function that was just over looked?

That would probably constitute a safety issue.
Servers are supposed to run continuously. What requires you to restart it so often?

The Sever itself doesn’t need to rebooted in fact without Plex Server it requires no rebooting. I only have it set to reboot because Plex Server for whatever reason doesn’t play well with my network, maybe it’s because I’m behind a VPN and unwilling to punch holes in my firewall. Safety Issues I am going to assume you are talking about by adding a restart option you would be adding a greater threat surface or entry point to the server itself?.

I’m going to take a guess that most of us here wouldn’t be running Plex on any real server containing anything important as you said it best, it’s for home users not commercial in another post. I really adding that feature would bring value to users that use Plex Dash.
