When I go to the system tray and right click the plex app and click open plex nothing happens. It just randomly started doing that today prior to an update. I updated to see if that would fix it and no change. I created a bookmark so no big deal but I found it strange.
It’s not a generic problem with PMS for Windows as it is working fine for me. Might want to check your windows settings to make sure there is a default browser selected. If you use multiple browsers, they are always fighting with each other to be the default – maybe something went wrong.
Nothing has changed on this PC. It’s designed strictly for plex and rarely gets used. I just needed to make some changes in plex the last couple of days and it worked yesterday and before that and doesn’t work today. Chrome is set as my default browser and has not changed.
It could be a Chrome issue. Can you set a different default browser to test? If it works, then you might want a clean install of Chrome.
Weird, that was it. It worked on edge. Not sure why it stopped working. I don’t think I updated the browser recently but it looks like the release date for mine is Aug 16th so it must be this newest release I guess.

This happens when Windows has no default browser set.
Chrome was my default browser.
